This course in conflict resolution is aimed at teaching community leaders alternatives to costly and time consuming litigation, to enhance community leaders' involvement in the dispute resolution process and to facilitate access to justice. The students will participate in a series of increasingly difficult cases in which they are the arbitrators. The cases will involve labor mediation, neighborhood complaint centers, child welfare disputes, intra-institutional disputes, environmental disputes and health care related arbitration. |
